Sorry to be MIA for so long - I just got back from an 11 day trip to Honduras with a group of physicians and nurses. When you are in rural parts of a developing country, and there's no electricity, knitting (by headlamp) is a good way to pass the time.
Here is one of my Nancy Bush socks:
I'll write more details about socks later (and also let you know where I am on my Roza socks). Thank you to everyone who made suggestions about vacations. It looks like we might fly into Seattle and take a jaunt to Vancouver and Whistler...but I am still looking for plane tickets!
Sounds like an amazing trip - do tell more!

I'd also love to hear more about Honduras.
My favorite trip was the summer my parents and I went across Canada, from Ontario to British Columbia. I was 12 or 13 at the time. On that trip we went to the Canadian border of Glacier National Park.

My girlfriends and I just had a Seattle weekend earlier this month (I live 30 miles north of Seattle). We stayed at the Mediterranean Inn on Queen Ann. Not too fancy, but the rooms had kitchenettes, a Starbucks in the lobby, and underground parking. It was also a couple of blocks away from Peso's which has great Mexican food, the best brunch in town, and a hip bar on the weekends. I hope you have a fun trip!

Knitting by headlamp in Honduras? What a vision! :) I'd love to hear more about your trip.
Yes, please do come to Seattle. It's a beautiful city, especially in late summer. July - Sept. Vancouver is an easy drive and is also a fun city to visit. If you do end up coming to Seattle, let me know if you have any questions or need any recommendations. And maybe we can meet if the timing is right!
